Drunken Boater Charged In Deadly Summer Atlantic City Crash: Prosecutor

An Atlantic City man is facing charges after a boat crash killed a woman last summer, authorities said.

Jeffrey Jastrzembski, 53, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 11, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced on Tuesday, Jan. 16. He has been charged with first-degree aggravated manslaughter in the crash on Saturday, Aug. 12.

Prosecutors said Jastrzembski was driving a boat in the Intracoastal Waterway near the Albany Avenue bridge just after 5 p.m. He's accused of speeding towards the docks and making a sharp left turn.

Norma Michaels, 79, of Atlantic City, was hit by Jastrzembski's boat propeller and killed. Investigators said Jastrzembski's blood alcohol content was between 0.19 and 0.23 percent at the time of the crash.

New Jersey State Police helped the fatal crash investigation unit from the county prosecutor's office with the investigation.
